Campus Overview

Eduexplora uses the same residences and dining halls that regular undergraduate students use during the regular academic year, allowing students to get a feel for a real US College life experience. Students will sleep, eat and learn in the same places as regular undergrad students. Many of the staff are undergraduates from the university and can provide useful information about navigating the campus and college life experience in the US.

Top spots to visit and take pictures at UCLA

The program will end, but the memories will last forever. There are many places on campus that you can take pictures to remember the remarkable experiences you will have during the 2 weeks.

  • Bruin Bear

The Bruin Bear is an iconic statue representing the UCLA Bruin. Conveniently located next to Ackerman Union and the John Wooden Center, the Bruin Bear remains accessible all year round. The only times the statue is blocked off is during the USC game, which considering the rivalry, might be a sound decision.
  • Janss Steps
Janss steps opens up to a magnificent view of the central and west side of UCLA. The hills of UCLA create breathtaking views not obtainable in many flat campuses.
  • Sculpture Garden
It is a serene and artful location to take portraits. The Sculpture Garden is located next to the School of Theater, Film and Television and the Broad Art Center.
  • Powell Library
One of the most iconic buildings on campus is Powell Library. Both the exterior facade and interior halls are wonderful classics to add to any UCLA graduation portrait session.
  • Kerckhoff Hall
Another location at UCLA is Kerckhoff Hall. With unique architecture and a coffee shop, Kerckhoff Hall is an excellent location to take portraits.
  • Shapiro Fountain
Compared to most fountains out there, Shapiro Fountain shines as one of the most beautiful, especially considering the potential backdrops you can get. On one hand, you have Royce Hall as your background, and on the other, the magnificent valley beyond Janss Steps.
  • Royce Hall
With its majestic facade and twin towers, Royce Hall remains the architectural symbol of UCLA. The brick and tile building is in the Lombard Romanesque style, and once functioned as the main classroom facility of the university and symbolized its academic and cultural aspirations. Today, the twin-towered front remains the best known UCLA landmark.
  • Founder's Rock
This boulder, brought to campus in 1926, marks the spot where UCLA's new campus was planned.
  • John Wooden statue

Bronze statue of basketball coach John Wooden, whose vision, dedication and insistence on personal excellence is close to legendary. The statue was created by renowned sculptor Blair Buswell unveiled on the north side of Pauley Pavilion in 2012.
