Chaperones Yale - Session 1

A chaperone is a person who accompanies Eduexplora students from their country of origin to the university campus in the US. Its main responsibility is to ensure their safety by providing information and reinforcing security procedures during flights and academic programs, see below more details about chaperones responsibility:


  • Safely escort students from their home country to and from the University.
  • Assist when there are incidents, including illness, homesickness, or behavior problems.
  • Provide a communication channel to and from parents, both on a proactive basis and in the event of any incident where a participant may need medical attention or is not behaving as expected. 
  • Residential Staff will meet students upon arrival at the campus and will take over primary responsibility for the duration of the program session.
  • Keep in mind students will be divided into cohorts with students from different countries, so chaperones will not always be in contact with students from their specific country.
