Safety Protocols
During our programs, students and chaperones must follow some rules that will keep everyone safe during the 2 weeks. Please see below the protocols for each moment of your travel.
During the Flight:
- At the airport, chaperones will register who has arrived (take attendance) and distribute luggage tag and windbreakers. Students should immediately put the luggage tag and the windbreakers on. For their safety, students are required to always wear the windbreaker. No exceptions. Because of the bright color, the chaperone can always have the students on their sight.
- Students will be reminded to take a picture of their suitcase and passport for parents and students to safe keep.
- Parents should accompany their child to the airline counter and check in.
- A row call must take place in every step of the travel to make sure all students are together.
Landing:
- Students are request to wear their windbreakers and that they must disembark from the airplane together. Once the group is ready to leave the plane, one chaperone must go to the beginning of the line and the other to the end.
At campus:
- Crosswalks
Participants must use designated crosswalks when crossing any street on campus or in any other location they visit while enrolled in the program. Crossing the street illegally (or “jay-walking”) is prohibited. Cross only when safe to do so.
- Lanyards
Participants will be given program lanyards to carry their room key, meal card and ID card,
and they are expected to wear their lanyards around their necks at all times. Avoid swinging
or twirling of lanyards which may lead to injury.
- Public Transportation
Participants are forbidden from using any form of public transportation, such as city buses,
Ubers, or taxis, without being accompanied by an Eduexplora staff member.
- Sign-out Procedures
Participants must obtain permission to leave their residence, and all off-campus excursions
require supervision by residential staff or chaperone.
Sign-out sheets will be used to record name, cell phone number and destination, time out
and time in, and the name of the staff member granting permission. Sign-out procedures will
be explained during the orientation.
- Visitors
Participants are not allowed to entertain personal visitors inside program residences.
Leaving the University:
- Students will leave the University with the same groups they arrive at the bus.
- In case, student check-in by themselves, they will be allowed just with parents authorization.
